MakingYourWeddingExtraMeaningfulThe best weddings include many personalized touches that share not only the wedding couple’s personalities and favorite things, but also meaningful elements that pay tribute to the couple’s parents and families, beloved relatives and their love stories, the couple’s cultures and religions, and the depth and beauty of love and partnership overall. The wedding trend site TheWedingReport.com says that 66% of wedding couples say that their top wish is to have a Meaningful wedding, and here are some of the top ways that you can fill your wedding day, and your wedding venue, with extra-special meaningful elements:

  • Choose a wedding venue that’s special to you, or to your family. It’s a top trend to choose a wedding location that plays a part in your love story – perhaps you got engaged at the venue’s restaurant, or perhaps you met at a friend’s wedding at that same wedding venue. There’s no longer an unspoken rule that you have to be First to marry in a particular wedding venue, but you certainly could be! Your wedding décor and perhaps time of day can make that top wedding venue look entirely different from past weddings you’ve attended there, and you get the advantage of having experienced a wedding at that wedding ballroom or in those same wedding gardens, so you know the quality of service and the location well.

How to Choose the Right Videographer

Not all couples hire a videographer to cover their wedding day, opting instead to focus their wedding budget on their wedding photographer, wedding flowers, wedding cake, and wedding reception site amenities. That said, with the ever increasing production value of wedding videos, helped by the reduced cost of quality equipment and editing tools, combined with the popularity of video sharing across social media, the importance couples place on having a video record of their wedding day is as popular as ever. Most brides that have chosen not to hire a videographer for the wedding admit to regretting it afterwards. Read more…

Pinterest is so much more than a collection of pretty pictures; for brides, Pinterest provides a look at the top wedding trends (so that they can decide if they’d like to follow the trends or avoid them!) in every wedding planning category from wedding gowns to wedding flowers, décor, photography, rings, and especially wedding locations and wedding food and drinks.

When you’re researching and booking wedding vendors and sites, it’s important for your wedding experts and wedding site managers to get a crystal-clear understanding of what you want for your wedding day. And as they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” When you can present to your wedding experts and wedding site team a collection of images of what you want, and what you don’t want, the experts to whom you entrust your wedding vision get that clear picture of what you both would like, and they can then start creating it for you, right down to the garnish on the appetizers you call a Must. Writing Wedding Vows

Bride and Groom

As a popular New Jersey wedding venue that’s had the pleasure of hosting thousands of weddings over our many years, we’ve seen countless brides and grooms exchange wedding vows. Some have chosen to follow traditional pledges and others have swapped vows as unique and different as the couples themselves.  In the end, both are beautiful options.  The choice a couple makes ultimately comes down to what feels right for each couple, but it is not always an easy decision to make. How to Choose a Wedding Theme

 Wedding Theme

Wedding Theme Photos

The first thing to know about selecting a theme for your wedding is that you don’t have to. Many brides are happy to simply decide on a general color palette and then base their decisions about wedding floral arrangements, reception table settings, wedding invitations, and all of the other details on their preferred color scheme.  At our NJ wedding venue, we found this can make choices both easier and more difficult.  The range of options available to you makes it simpler to get what you want and at a cost that is more reasonable, but at the same time, an endless amount of choices can make it difficult to narrow down what you want and keep a cohesive design together.

When considering a wedding theme, many brides simply start with a basic seasonal concept and go from there–whether it’s a spring wedding theme, summer wedding theme, fall wedding theme, or winter wedding theme. From there we’ve seen brides narrow it even further.  For example, if it’s a spring wedding, they may choose to base their theme on cherry blossoms, incorporating actual cherry blossom branches into their centerpieces, taking wedding photographs with cherry trees as a backdrop, and working with the pink and white cherry blossom colors and images as part of their wedding décor, invitations, wedding favors, wedding cake, and so on.  You can almost picture exactly what the execution of this theme would look like.  Within a seasonal wedding theme, the options are many — from a summer picnic theme to a winter wonderland, and so much more.  Read more…

Engagement Ring

Your engagement ring will always be with you, as an ever-present reminder of the moment you became engaged, and as a symbol of the deep and beautiful love between you. Since this ring is such a focal point on your hand, and since it will be one of your most treasured possessions, a great deal of care must go into choosing the perfect engagement ring. That’s why a top wedding trend right now is for the bride to be involved in designing or selecting her engagement ring.

Our stylish New Jersey and New York City brides say they definitely had a say in the choice of their ring style, without ruining any of the magic of the proposal itself (that is most often still a surprise!) and their grooms are very happy to give their brides the experience of trying on rings at the ring shop. That’s a bride’s dream come true! And you get to try on different styles to pick The One for you. Read more…

Wedding Rings

As a top NJ wedding venue, we’ve hosted countless successful weddings and receptions. What we know is that each and every wedding is different. But what we’ve also learned in helping the wedding planning of our many brides- and grooms-to-be is that there are a lot of things in common that make for a less stressful and more enjoyable wedding experience. Top among these is organization.  We helped plan last minute weddings and elaborate weddings that were years in the making.  But overall, the couples who first started with a plan, set their calendars, and stayed regimented about sticking to their schedule, found themselves more relaxed, were able to enjoy the wedding planning process, and had a stress-free wedding day.  Read more…

Choosing Between a Band or Deejay for your Wedding Entertainment

Wedding band

Wedding entertainment

Music is such an important part of your wedding day, from the first notes of your processional song to the song you choose for your First Dance to the music that keeps your dance floor filled all night long. The big question for you is: do you want a live band or a deejay as the entertainment at your wedding?

It all depends on the style of entertainment you prefer, which many of our wedding couples say they decide during other weddings they’ve attended. If they have been guests at a wedding that had an energetic, talented live band, they may decide that a live band is the style of entertainment for them. If they’ve experienced the hip, clublike energy of a great deejay, they may choose that style of entertainer to fill their wedding venue with fabulous music that sets the tone for each stage of their wedding celebration.
